Frequently Asked Field Office Questions
Do you only work with hotels and estates? No. The Terroir Atelier™ is our hospitality-specific methodology, but our core practice—strategy, identity, visual archive, storytelling—works for any brand rooted in a specific place, craft, or lineage: winemakers, ceramicists, restaurants, food producers, small manufacturers.
What if we’re not a hospitality property—how does pricing work?Outside the Atelier, scope is set project by project (identity system, brand strategy, book design, photography, and so on) rather than through the three-tier structure. We’ll recommend a scope after an initial conversation about your business and goals.
We’re small—do we need a “full brand system”?No. Many of our best engagements start with just a logo, a naming project, or a single publication, and grow from there as the relationship deepens.
What if we just need new photography—not a full brand or identity project? That’s its own engagement. We produce photo and film archives on their own: assembling the right creative team, art directing the shoot around your place and product, editing the final work, and handing off a usable archive—no strategy or identity system required.
What are “Objects of Place”?Physical products we develop as an extension of your brand, specific to what you make and where you are. For hospitality clients, this often means curating and producing the must-have objects that stock a hotel lobby or guest room—the things guests want to take a piece of home with them. For makers and other brands, it takes whatever form fits: packaging, printed matter, tools, or objects tied to your craft. Either way, the object carries the story—it isn't merchandise for its own sake.
How do you decide who to work with?We look for businesses where land, craft, or lineage genuinely shape the product—not brands looking to borrow that story cosmetically.
What if our “place” is a workshop, not a landscape?Same principle, different terrain. A loom, a kiln, a chef’s recipe passed down for generations carry the same weight as soil and climate in our process.
What happens after handoff? You get a Knowledge Archive built so any future hire, designer, or partner can pick it up and speak fluently about your brand. Ongoing stewardship is optional and available at any scale.
Can we start smaller and expand later?Yes. Several larger engagements began as a single project.
